Welcome to Wanttohunt German Shorthaired Pointers!
Wanttohunt German Shorthaired Pointers is dedicated to the betterment of the GSP through high ethical standards of excellence in selective
breeding. Whether in the conformation ring, out hunting, running obedience, agility or hunt tests, serving their master in the capacity of service
dog or helping to enliven the daily life of those in nursing homes as a therapy dog, their intelligence and desire to please makes them a pleasure
to train in any venue. Above all, and most importantly, our GSPs make outstanding family companions.
Our Kennel isn't really a kennel ~ it is more of a family with a lot of dogs! We are a small but successful kennel, breeding only one to two litters
each year. We pride ourselves in producing quality well rounded GSPs. Our GSPs are first and foremost beloved family companions who possess
the temperaments that make them a joy to live with.
We obtained our first GSP in 1995 and bred our first litter in September 2000. This breeding produced an outstanding litter of great conformation
with natural abilities and drive. We continued to move forward with our next litter being sired by a Dual Champion and we were well on our
way towards our goal of producing beautiful hunting dogs. Our dogs make excellent family companions and have the ability to switch gears,
being calm and cooperative in the home, and have high desire in the field. They are close working, which makes them ideal for hunting pheasant,
quail and woodcock. (Our dogs make a trip to Iowa each fall to enjoy wild pheasants)
We hope you enjoy your visit and we invite your inquiries regarding our puppies and our boys who are standing at stud. We also occasionally
have older basic trained puppies and young adults available.
